The Primary Sector Group (PSG) includes seven primary sector industry training organisations (ITOs) working together to improve skill levels in the land-based industries: Agriculture ITO, Equine ITO, FITEC (Forestry), NZ Horticulture ITO, NZITO, Seafood ITO and NZ Sports Turf ITO.

Collectively, these industries employ 220,000 people. Some 35,000 of these people are currently developing their skills to meet industry requirements and further their careers.

Each ITO is represented on the Primary Sector Group by their CEO, collectively this group drives the strategic direction of the PSG. Every year the CEO group elects a new chairperson for the PSG, the current chairperson is Kevin Bryant from the AgITO.
